Trade Notice for Southern Border operations

Effective immediately the following changes were published by The Mexican Customs Brokerage association in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps.



ADUANA DE COLOMBIA:
· Se elimina el horario del día domingo el cual comprendía de 12:00 a 16:00, por lo consiguiente se interpreta que dicha aduana ya no operara los domingos

MEXICAN CUSTOMS AT COLOMBIA:
· Mexican Customs will no longer operate on Sunday’s. This replaces the prior operations hours of 1200 to 1600.

eManifest (Proposed Regulations)

Further to the message sent to CSCB members on February 18, 2014, the CSCB has confirmed that the deployment of ATD functionality will not be July 2014. As indicated in the Gazette, the expected system availability date for voluntary submission of Advance Trade Date (ATD) is 2015.

FDA Food Facility Registration Renewal and Impact on Food Imports

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), signed into law on Jan. 4, 2011, enables FDA to better protect public health by strengthening the food safety system. Among many other changes, FSMA amended section 415 of the federal food, drug, and cosmetics act, which requires domestic and foreign facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food for human or animal consumption in the U.S. to register with FDA.

Highway Carriers E-Manifest Update

It was announced at last week’s BCCC meeting that eManifest for highway has been delayed. May 1st, 2013, is no longer the mandatory date and CBSA is hoping for implementation in the fall of this year. This date change will likely have an impact on other dates associated with the remaining phases of eManifest as well.
